“Iranian Journalism”: An Introduction to a National Paradigm / A Note by Abolfazl Fateh

National JournalismAgainst this current stands the concept of “national journalism.” The foundational values of national journalism are therefore formulated in distinction from the neo-colonial form of hegemonic journalism. For this reason, every country with its own civilization, culture, and history can have its own form of national journalism. By the same token, “journalism in Iran” should be distinguished from “Iranian journalism.” This essay was merely a preliminary attempt to initiate a question and a dialogue concerning the conceptual formulation of “national journalism” and “Iranian journalism.”
