Passengers using Oswestry bus station are set to benefit from a series of planned enhancements, starting with the installation of new bus shelters equipped with real-time passenger information displays.
Funding for the project has been secured via Government support, with the initiative delivered through a joint effort between Shropshire Council, Oswestry Town Council, and Oswestry BID under the umbrella of the Future Oswestry Group.
Rob Wilson, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member for transport and regeneration, said:“It’s exciting to see work underway on the new shelters and real-time passenger information displays at Oswestry Bus Station.
Judy Bourne, director of Oswestry BID, said:“As a local business owner and director of Oswestry BID, I’m delighted to see partners working together through the Future Oswestry Group to improve this important gateway into the town.
Shropshire Council is scheduled to install additional Government-funded bus shelters across Market Drayton, Shrewsbury, Ludlow, and Ellesmere between August and October.
