The family of Lisa Koppel has revealed that the 41-year-old wife of South African musician Danny K died after a nearly three-year battle with colorectal cancer. The family said Lisa had deliberately kept her illness private because she did not want pity, attention or sympathy. “Colorectal cancer screening was traditionally recommended from age 50, but the disease is increasingly affecting younger people,” the family said. The family thanked the doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals who cared for Lisa in South Africa and abroad. Danny K said: “I have lost the wife I worshipped, our three children have lost an extraordinary mother, and her family and friends have lost someone they deeply loved.”
