Shafaqna English- On Monday(10 Aug 2026), a U.S. appellate court gave the green light for thousands of legal claims to proceed against Meta, Google, TikTok, and Snapchat, based on allegations that these companies intentionally engineered their platforms to hook younger audiences. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, based in San Francisco, dismissed an attempt by Meta and TikTok to reverse a lower court’s decision that ordered them to defend themselves against over 3,000 federal lawsuits, stating that the companies filed their appeal prematurely.
