Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane on Tuesday handed over one of 66 newly built and fully furnished houses to a resident of Wittlekleibosch in the Koukamma Local Municipality, in the Sarah Baartman District. Mabuyane handed the keys to 41-year-old Zimkitha Candy Mntambo, a woman living with a disability. The house was specially designed to meet her specific needs, including the installation of a wheelchair-accessible ramp and other essential modifications. “So, we’re quite happy to be handing over this house in particular to this disabled lady. As an action plan, Mabuyane says the government is committed to provide vulnerable communities with 4000 houses a year.
