If you’ve been thinking about running for local office in Sonoma County, you just got a second chance. Registrar of Voters Evelyn Mendez announced that candidate nomination deadlines for dozens of local seats have been extended to close of business on Wednesday, August 12th. Open positions span several local school boards, special districts, and city council seats in Santa Rosa, Cloverdale, Cotati, Sebastopol, and Windsor. School and special district hopefuls must file in person at the Registrar’s new office on Brickway Boulevard in Santa Rosa by Wednesday evening. City council candidates need to submit their final paperwork directly to their respective city clerk before business closes tomorrow.
