Attorneys handling the bankruptcy of accused fraudster Ken Mattson are training their sights on high-stakes Southern California property deals. According to the Press Democrat, unsecured creditors suspect Mattson funneled millions in Del Mar real estate to associates to hide assets after coming under federal investigation. A bankruptcy judge has granted subpoena power to investigate several transactions, including a $19 million beach house transfer to a local broker. Mattson, who is accused of defrauding investors out of over $100 million in a massive Ponzi scheme, faces trial in April 2027. Brokers involved deny any wrongdoing, insisting the multimillion-dollar acquisitions were legitimate business opportunities.
