Lawyers for Andranik Tevanyan, chairman of the Mother Armenia party, and party member Aregnaz Manukyan said that claims made by Investigative Committee Deputy Chairman Armen Gevorgyan do not correspond to reality.
The remarks in question were made during an August 6 interview with Public Television, according to a statement issued by the defense team.
They also denied the claim that Mother Armenia member Aregnaz Manukyan had provided the document to Tevanyan.
The Investigative Committee said that Tevanyan, while serving as a lawmaker in 2024, was allegedly recruited by foreign intelligence services and engaged in agent activities.
The Investigative Committee later said Manukyan had been charged with disclosing a state secret, after which she was remanded in custody for two months.
