Nothing has been removed from the Constitution because an entirely new Constitution is being drafted, Arusyak Julhakyan, a lawmaker from the ruling Civil Contract parliamentary faction, said.
She was responding to a question from Hayastan faction leader Anna Grigoryan on whether the reference to the Declaration of Independence had been removed from the Constitution.
“It is not that we took the Constitution and deleted some things from it and added others.
Rather, we took a blank sheet of paper and began writing the text of a new Constitution.
“The deadline for publication has been set for the end of the year, and we will meet that deadline,” Julhakyan said.
