Levi Larteh, 26, was charged Monday in Cass County District Court with aggravated assault, bodily injury with a dangerous weapon against a peace officer, a Class B felony. The charge stems from an incident at the Cass County Jail on August 9. According to an incident report, a deputy was conducting a medication pass in the jail when Larteh threatened him, saying “You know me. Larteh then lifted the tablet, feigned a swing, pulled back, and swung again, striking the deputy on the right side of the face. The deputy suffered two open wounds above his right eye, required eight stitches, and experienced temporary difficulty seeing from the blow.
