Dr. Dan Cramer, Chief Clinical Officer for Behavioral Health Clinics at the State Hospital in Jamestown on The Jay Thomas ShowJAMESTOWN, N.D. — State behavioral health officials are urging North Dakota residents experiencing kratom withdrawal to seek outpatient medical support following a statewide ban on the substance.
Dr. Dan Cramer, Chief Clinical Officer for Behavioral Health Clinics at the State Hospital in Jamestown, addressed growing concerns over kratom dependency and withdrawal management following North Dakota’s 30-day emergency ban.
“It’s really been in the last year that we’ve been seeing and hearing more and more about kratom use,” Cramer said.
Outpatient opioid treatment providers, behavioral health clinics, and primary care physicians across the state are available to provide medication-assisted treatment.
Additionally, state health officials recommend keeping Naloxone (Narcan) available.
