Kathryn Winer, 37, of Umpire, accepted a plea agreement August 5 in Howard County Circuit Court before Circuit Judge Tom Cooper. Under the terms of the agreement, Winer was sentenced to 20 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, with eight years suspended, after pleading guilty to one count of Sexual Assault in the First Degree. She was also given credit for 357 days previously served in the Howard County Jail. During the interview, Winer disclosed that she and the juvenile had been involved in a sexual relationship since June 2025. At the time of the investigation, Winer was employed as a teacher at JoAnn Walters Elementary School in the Dierks School District.
