As a public land-grant research university, Colorado State University stands as one of the oldest institutions in the state of Colorado. At the same time, Colorado is celebrating the 150th anniversary of statehood, as Colorado entered the union exactly 100 years after nationwide independence. A CSU Source article describes how CSU has served as an integral part of Colorado’s foundation throughout its development. CSU carries an especially rich history in agriculture, having originally been founded as the Colorado Agricultural College.
