It was another bullpen unraveling for the Kansas City Royals, who let the Chicago Cubs score six runs off their relieves in a 10-2 loss Sunday, Aug. 9 at Kauffman Stadium. While McGee allowed six runs on five hits with two walks and three punchouts, Randy Dobnak took his first loss of the season. Dobnak allowed four runs on ten hits and one walk, striking out four across five innings. Matthew Boyd went seven innings in the win, allowing just Marte’s home run on five hits and three walks, striking out three. The Royals drop to 49-70, ahead of a week in Los Angeles, starting Monday evening in Chavez Ravine against the Dodgers.
