FAYETTE CONTINUES CLEANUP FROM JUNE’S HEAVY RAINS
[]
KMMO – Marshall, MO
The City of Fayette continues to deal with the aftermath of two heavy downpours that hit the area in early June.
City administrator Deanna Cooper says after weeks of addressing the water levels at two of the city’s lakes, both DC Rogers and Peters lakes have reopened for public use.
However, she notes that some restrictions are still in place as the city continues to repair damage.
Cooper said the two rainstorms drenched Fayette in a short amount of time, creating flooding issues throughout the city, including the school district.
The Fayette Board of Aldermen will have their next meeting Tuesday evening, starting with their annual public hearing on the proposed tax levy at 6 p.m.
