The band director at Marion County High School has been arrested on nearly 20 counts of sexual abuse. On August 6, the investigation was presented to a Marion County Grand Jury which returned the 17-count indictment. McRay was employed by Marion County Schools as a teacher and served as the Marion County High School Band Director at the time of the alleged offenses, KSP said in a press release. According to the Marion County Schools website, McRay was hired as band director in July 2024. Prior to moving to Marion County High School, McRay was an assistant band director at Mercer County High School.
