The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development has commenced the 26th National Council on Women Affairs, Child Advancement and Social Development in Jalingo, Taraba State. The Ministerial Session will be chaired by the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim. Jalo also presented a review of the 25th National Council on Women and Child Development held in November 2025 in Benin City, Edo State. The Council had identified persistent gaps in data management, funding and monitoring of social development programmes, despite progress recorded in gender mainstreaming and women’s empowerment. Review PoliciesThe National Council on Women Affairs and Child Development, as the highest policy advisory body on women, children, families and vulnerable groups, provides a platform for stakeholders to review policies, assess implementation and adopt resolutions to advance social inclusion and sustainable development.
