The Lafayette County Commission has named Jaimie Umhoefer as the county’s new auditor. The Commission made the appointment Monday, Aug. 10, weeks after learning from outgoing auditor Kali Rechterman that she would leave the post prior to her term expiring Dec. 31. In a statement, Northern District Commissioner Monica Ritter says the commission conducted a number of interviews before agreeing to Umhoefer’s appointment. Umhoefer ran uncontested for the Republican nomination in the August primary. She will appear on November’s ballot against Tahnami Gittinger, who ran uncontested for the Democratic nomination.
