The Kansas City Royals struck early, but were unable to keep up with the Los Angeles Dodgers as they fell 6-5 on Monday, Aug 10 at Dodger Stadium. The Royals made use of their familiarity with the Dodgers’ new ace Tarik Skubal in the first, when Bobby Witt Jr stole second, then scored on Jac Caglianone’s one-out single. Caglianone would extend the lead with a two-run home run in the third. The Royals would tie the game in the top of the seventh with Kyle Isbel’s two-run homer to right field that also scored Michael Massey. Freeman was thrown out trying to get to second, but the Royals would not recover.
