Two ministers have voluntarily resigned from their Cabinet portfolios – Minister for Home Affairs Tshering and Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Gem Tshering. According to a news release from the Prime Minister’s Office, His Majesty The King has accepted their resignations upon the recommendation of the Prime Minister. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Home Affairs Minister Tshering resigned on high moral grounds in relation to an ongoing personal matter. The Prime Minister’s Office stated that interim administrative arrangements for the two ministries will be announced shortly, and recommendations for new ministerial nominations will be submitted for Royal Consideration in accordance with the law. As per the Act, any vacancy in the Cabinet should be filled within 30 days.
