A 35-year-old man with a long criminal record is in custody after allegedly burglarizing two homes, fleeing police, and hiding in an attic during a Monday SWAT standoff.
Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey identified the suspect as Christian Banks Lane II.
Lane has an extensive criminal record including 15 felony arrests, 12 misdemeanor arrests, and three felony convictions.
Once inside, Lane armed himself, refused to communicate, and barricaded himself inside the house.
The Rankin County SWAT team deployed to the scene, ultimately capturing Lane Monday night after finding him hiding in the attic.
