Lincoln County resident Diane Huebner asked the Lincoln County Commissioners Monday if the commissioners could take steps to pull the community together on the topic of data center development. The development of data centers has been at the forefront of public discussion in June and July. She also asked about the apparent deadline by the end of August to update zoning rules and regulations for data centers. Weems added that if the county were to arbitrarily prevent data centers from building, “that’s where you lose in court.” Just to say no to data centers, or to any industry, “is opening up your flank to losing in district court.”
