The record, which contains classic tracks such as ‘Tom Traubert’s Blues’, ‘Step Right Up’ and ‘The Piano Has Been Drinking’, is set to be made available once again through Anti Records on October 2nd, 2026. While Small Change was Waits’ fourth record rather than his first, he’d finally grown into his voice on the 1976 album, which marked a turning point and presented a glimpse into the bright future that awaited him. Waits added, “I thought at some point I’d like to forge it all into something meaningful and give it dignity.” In addition to the reissue of Small Change, it’s a good time to be a Waits fan right now after he recently returned to music after more than a decade away.
