By May Hunter, For Iron County TodayThe USA West Square Dance Convention was in full swing in Cedar City, Utah, from August 5-8, 2026. The festival was held at the Heritage Center, marking the first time the convention has been hosted in Cedar City. The USA West Square Dance organization has 327 active members throughout the western United States and Canada. According to caller Patrick Matthews, square dancing is “friendship set to music.” The adult group dances every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the Cedar City Aquatic Center.
