A former Mississippi sheriff convicted of taking bribes in 2022 has been released early from federal prison.
WLBT News in Jackson reports that former Hinds County Sheriff Marshand Crisler was featured in social media posts from a welcome-home party on Saturday, Aug. 8.
Crisler was slated to be released from federal prison on December 9, 2026, after being convicted on two felony counts.
In 2025, Crisler was found guilty on one count of taking bribes in exchange for favors during his time as sheriff and one count of providing ammunition to a known convicted felon.
