Warner Bros promotes ‘The End of Oak Street’ using bizarre AI dog podcastWarner Bros has decided to take a rather unconventional route to promote its latest film, The End of Oak Street, by using the opportunity presented by a podcast hosted by AI dogs. The sci-fiction survival film, set for release in US cinemas on August 14th, features an all-star cast led by Ewan McGregor and Anne Hathaway. However, rather than speaking to one of those Hollywood megastars, the film’s promotional team have tried a new, if not also disturbing, tactic, by bringing the film’s dog, Starbuck, to life using AI effects. This was through the medium of the existing DogPack podcast, hosted by an AI bulldog named Frenchie, who asked Starbuck questions about his new film star owners. It also comes at a time of intense pressure for Warner Bros, amid its planned merger with Paramount.
