Prosecutor seeks to try teen in adult court over Zionsville Main Street arsonCrews on July 10, 2026, responded to a fire at 195 S. Main St. in Zionsville, Indiana, the former Kogan Antiques and Lighting.
(WISH) — The Boone County prosecutor wants to move an arson case involving an 18-year-old man from juvenile to adult court following a fire that happened in July on historic Main Street.
Because the suspect was a minor at the time of the fire, Indiana law requires the case to start in juvenile court.
However, Prosecuting Attorney Kent Eastwood said in a note with a news release issued Monday night that his office wants to move the case to adult court so it can proceed in the adult criminal justice system.
Under Indiana law, juvenile court records and hearings are typically confidential.
