Indianapolis mayor proposes nearly $1.9 billion budget for 2027INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett presented the city’s proposed budget for next year Monday night, outlining a nearly $1.9 billion spending plan focused on public safety, infrastructure, responsible governance, and quality of life.
If approved, the mayor says it would mark Indianapolis’ 10th consecutive balanced budget.
The mayor said the proposed spending plan is designed to make investments that will strengthen Indianapolis in the years ahead.
“The budget I present to you, and it’s in that spirit, will carry Indianapolis in the years ahead,” Hogsett said.
The council is scheduled to vote on the final 2027 budget at its meeting on Oct. 19.
