General Motors and SAIC Motor extended their joint venture 20 years through 2047, targeting new growth in China’s rapidly shifting auto market. SAIC-GM plans to launch at least 30 new energy vehicles (NEVs) by 2030 and will expand the use of technology developed in China specifically for Chinese consumers. According to the automaker’s media release, SAIC-GM will export the Buick Electra E7 overseas starting in October, marking the joint venture’s first premium NEV sold abroad.
