Insitu MQ-27 ScanEagle droneBoeing and Archer Aviation have signed agreements under which Archer will acquire three Boeing subsidiaries involved in autonomous aircraft, airspace management and unmanned military systems. Its technology includes autonomous flight systems, flight-control computers, sensors and radar. Insitu manufactures unmanned aircraft used for surveillance and reconnaissance. The three businesses have nearly two million combined flight hours, according to Boeing and Archer. Boeing will also retain a stake in Archer while continuing to focus its investments on its core businesses.
