Tennessee held primary elections Aug. 6, kicking off the midterm election cycle. Subsequent redistricting efforts were quickly supported by Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and state legislative leaders, including Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives Cameron Sexton. Last December, Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District held a special election following former U.S. Rep. Mark Green’s resignation. Republican primary voters selected Marsha Blackburn, the current senior U.S. senator representing Tennessee, to succeed Lee.
