PREVIEW: Fairport’s Cropredy Convention Festival 2026
[]
Blog – God Is In The TV
This weekend sees the folking folkiest folksters this side of Lindisfarne descending upon the usually quiet, sleepy Oxfordshire village of Cropredy, a few polkas from Banbury.
First night, the Thursday, sees Quebec French outfit Le Vent Du Nord headline with their “Québécois” style, which is mainly folk adjacent and in French.
It’s surprising they’ve never played the festival beforeOn before them is a band possibly more well-known in these streets, Turin Brakes.
It’s 25 years since they released their debut album, The Optimist LP, and they released their 10th only last year.
It’s a happy festival, a calm and communal place, known for beer drinking, singing and dancing.
