TWO goals from Bronagh Smyth was key for Derrygonnelly as they ran out comfortable 22-point winners over a youthful Belcoo side at Canon Maguire Park on Sunday morning. For the home side it was very much a routine outing, with pattern of play being set by a first minute Smyth goal, netted in a goalmouth scramble. Clinical displayDerrygonnelly’s scoring surge continued apace as the second quarter unfolded,with Bronagh Smyth and Hegarty points followed by a 22nd minute Lynne Carroll goal, volleyed home soccer style. Though Derrygonnelly were quick off the restart mark, Eimear Smyth and Carroll each pointing inside the opening two minutes, Belcoo rapidly began offering much more effective resistance. Derrygonnelly were well served by their strong spine with Bronagh Smyth doing the most damage in front of goal, finishing with a hugely impressive 2-04.
