Meliton Acho-Arce, 26, appeared in Grand County District Court on Aug. 7, 2026, and was sentenced to the maximum 16 years in the Department of Corrections. Acho-Arce was arrested in October 2025 following an investigation into a missing Grand County child. He used social media to contact children with the intent to commit sexual assault and began communicating with a 12-year-old in Grand County. A multiagency law enforcement investigation safely returned the child home. The investigation was led by the Grand County Sheriff’s Office and Detective Pam Starr, with assistance from local and metro law enforcement.
