Preschool worker charged after alleged assault of 2-year-old in Newtown Twp. NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPVI) -- A former employee at Newtown Discovery Preschool is facing child endangerment and simple assault charges after investigators say she allegedly assaulted a 2-year-old boy while working at the Bucks County facility. The preschool said Erin Burke, 27, was fired following the incident, calling her actions "unacceptable." Police say the investigation began in July after Burke reported the incident to her administrator, and school leaders then contacted authorities. "She in no way, shape or form would ever intentionally or even recklessly put a child in harm's way," he said.
