Carol Davis, 88, of East Galesburg, passed peacefully due to natural causes on Aug. 2, 2026, in Galesburg, Illinois. She met the love of her life, Harry Davis, on a train ride from her hometown back to Galesburg. She was proud to be married to Mr. Davis, who was a beloved Galesburg District 205 teacher. Carol and Harry tried for nine years before having their daughter and she always said, “We had fun trying.” Carol and Harry, through their unwavering love for reading and learning, instilled a passion for books in their daughter.
