Tata Steel Q1 profit falls 21 pc sequentially to Rs 2,318 crore on one-time loss; revenue slips 4 pc

Revenue from operations declined 3.9 per cent quarter-on-quarter to Rs 60,794 crore from Rs 63,270 crore.
Profit before exceptional items and tax increased to Rs 4,183 crore in Q1FY27 from Rs 3,199 crore a year ago.
After accounting for exceptional items, profit before tax rose 25 per cent year-on-year to Rs 3,838 crore, compared with Rs 3,067 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Tata Steel recorded exceptional items amounting to Rs 345 crore in the June quarter, higher than Rs 132 crore in the same period last year.
These comprised restructuring, redundancy and other provisions worth Rs 318 crore, an impairment provision on non-current assets of Rs 37.25 crore, partly offset by a fair value gain of Rs 10 crore on non-current investments.
