CBS 58WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Governor Tony Evers is asking the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help assess the damage from July's severe storms.
FEMA would help determine the extent of the damage and whether Wisconsin could qualify for federal disaster aid.
The assessment would be a step toward submitting a formal disaster declaration to President Trump.
The governor's office says additional counties could be added to the request after verifying pending county damage assessment information.
