October 04, (THEWILL) — A Federal High Court sitting in Enugu has restrained the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) from releasing or approving admission lists for the 2025/2026 academic session, pending the hearing of a substantive motion before it.
The interim order, granted by Justice A.T. Sogun-Bello, followed an ex-parte motion filed by five candidates — Chibuzor Success, Cyteinye Taiwo Ayomide, Adeleke John Samuel, Monsurat Aliyat Aduragbemi, and Bassey Daniel Nsikak — on behalf of others who sat the 2025 UNILAG and OAU post-UTME examinations.
), alleged irregularities and unfair treatment in the conduct of the post-UTME and urged the court to halt the admission process.
In her ruling dated September 30, 2025, Justice Sogun-Bello ordered the respondents — UNILAG, OAU, and JAMB — not to release, approve, upload, or finalise any admission list until the motion on notice is heard and determined.
The case was adjourned to October 28, 2025, for hearing.
