This Volkswagen Type 2 is a US-market Kombi that left the Hanover, Germany, assembly facility circa March 1960 with special-catalog paintwork. It was sent to Westfalia-Werke, where it was converted as an SO-23 Campmobile with a “submarine” roof hatch as well as white limba wood cabinetry and trim. This SO-23 Campmobile is now offered at no reserve as part of the DFW Car & Toy Museum Collection in Fort Worth, Texas, with accessories, records, and a bonded Texas title. The right-side cargo doors are trimmed in white limba wood and laminate, and the aft door incorporates a folding table. The washing cupboard is no longer plumbed, and the sale does not include the SO-23 anodized tumblers and perspex cover.
