Czech conductor, 88 RIPnorman lebrecht August 10, 2026The prolific Czech conductor Mario Klemens died on Saturday at the age of 88. He headed the Film Symphony Orchestra in Prague for 12 years, making around 150 recordings. In the 1970s he was chief conductor in Kosice, Slovakia. Born in in Chlumec nad Cidlinou in 1936, Klemens had Vaclav Havel and Milos Forman as his schoolmates.
