Thomas Edward Camper Sr., 93, of East Galesburg, Illinois, died at 6:50 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. Tom was born Dec. 6, 1932, in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Willis P. and Irene (Standard) Camper. Tom returned to Galesburg and was united in marriage to Betty Jane Whaley on June 1, 1957, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Their 68-year marriage brought much love including their three children, Ginny Clay of Knoxville, Illinois, Bill (Terry) Camper and Thomas Camper Jr., both of Galesburg. Betty preceded Tom in death on Dec. 17, 2025.
