The Witham’s cashless plans postponed

The Witham’s controversial plan to become a cashless venue has been postponed following a wave of public criticism.
The popular Barnard Castle arts centre announced a new policy of being a cashless venue from September 1.
“Going completely cashless risks excluding older residents, people without bank accounts or smartphones, and anyone who relies on cash to manage their spending.”
“As an independent charity, we have to balance accessibility with the practical realities of running a busy community venue.
We will always listen to our community and continue working to find the best solutions for everyone.”
