THE Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Philippines, Inc. (JCCIPI) has partnered with the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) to help Japanese firms’ issues on ease of doing business. In a statement, ARTA said the two parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Aug. 5, which designates the JCCIPI and its nationwide members as ARTA Champions. The chamber will work with ARTA in identifying regulatory bottlenecks, reporting red tape, engaging in policy consultations, and promoting awareness. “By designating JCCIPI as an ARTA Champion, we recognize the unique strengths, influence, and dedication of the Japanese business community in our collective efforts to eliminate red tape and improve public service delivery,” ARTA Director-General Ernesto V. Perez said. JCCIPI President Shigeru Shimoda said the partnership will help increase public-private sector collaboration between the government and Japanese businesses.
