View + 11 PhotosGrowers, advisers and industry specialists gathered for the Upper North Farming Systems' biggest event of 2026, with a full day of sessions exploring ways to manage risk and improve farm productivity. The expo, held on Friday at the Melrose Showgrounds, attracted a crowd of about 50 people to listen to 12 different sessions. Facilitated by Field Systems' Ed Scott, the program covered everything from seeding systems and late summer rainfall opportunities to precision agriculture, livestock genetics, carbon accounting and emerging weed management challenges. A panel featuring Jess Koch, Ed Scott and Ziek Kay examined how precision agriculture and data-based decision support tools could help mitigate risk using an interactive session with GRDC Riskwi$e Workshop. The afternoon sessions included Shane Kelly, Booleroo Centre, talking about farm diversification with his business Kelly Tillage.
