NASA is planning more than 20 robotic lunar landings through 2029 as the first major step toward building a permanent Moon base near the lunar South Pole. Blue Origin's Blue Moon Mark 1, called Endurance, is being prepared to demonstrate precision landing and autonomous navigation at the lunar South Pole. Voyager Technologies' Griffin-1 is also being prepared for a South Pole mission. NASA's VIPER rover is scheduled to arrive near the South Pole in late 2027.
