The Punjab government has opened company registrations for the Chief Minister IT Internship Programme (CMITIP), designed to equip youth with skills to boost job opportunities in the technology sector.
The programme will offer 30,000 internship placements, with selected interns receiving a monthly stipend of Rs50,000.
Companies will be able to select interns from a pool of pre-screened candidates based on their operational needs.
The internships are intended to provide hands-on exposure to modern technologies, industry-standard tools and professional workplaces, helping reduce the gap between academic education and industry requirements.
Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Chairman Faisal Yousaf said the initiative would strengthen links between the IT industry and young talent, expand access to practical training and help build a skilled workforce for Punjab’s expanding technology sector.
