THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and ADVANCE.CBP (Advintel, Inc.) signed a memorandum of understanding last week to establish a credit information registry for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This initiative, according to the DTI and ADVANCE.CBP, seeks to make lending more accessible for MSMEs. According to ADVANCE.CBP, SME Trust will be developed in three phases, starting with the establishment of MSMEs’ business profiles through DTI’s Negosyo Centers. The DTI and ADVANCE.CBP will then share the network with their partner platforms and institutions, followed by generating each MSME’s credit score for lenders’ reference. Our partnership with DTI, starting with this MoU, marks the beginning of that transformation,” she added.
