The head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commended Rezaei for his strategic insight and expertise in balancing both military operations and diplomatic efforts. Rezaei was described as a distinguished and seasoned figure in the nation, noted for his strategic and forward-looking vision. An IRGC commander emphasized Rezaei’s outstanding and notable career across multiple significant roles, specifically pointing out his 16-year leadership of the IRGC, which encompassed the critical period of the eight-year Iran-Iraq conflict. On Sunday, Ayatollah Khamenei issued a decree appointing Rezaei as his representative to Iran’s top national security decision-making body. In accordance with the decree, Masoud Pezeshkian has appointed Rezaei as the new secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).
