Gen Chiwenga Quietly Attends Gokomere Priestly AnniversaryShareBy A Correspondent| A source in the office of Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Ezra Chadzamira, revealed at the weekend that Vice President General (Retired) Dr Constantino Chiwenga attended the 25th anniversary of Bishop Raymond Tapiwa Mupandasekwa’s priestly ordination at St Patrick’s Mission in Gokomere, Masvingo. Addressing the gathering, Chiwenga highlighted the Catholic Church’s contribution to Zimbabwe’s development, particularly in education, healthcare, agriculture and community initiatives. Chiwenga also emphasised the Church’s contribution towards strengthening social cohesion and encouraging moral values within communities. Chadzamira similarly acknowledged the Catholic Church’s role in Masvingo, particularly its contribution to expanding educational opportunities and supporting agricultural initiatives in the province. The Bishop thanked fellow clergy, parishioners and the wider Catholic community for supporting him throughout his 25 years of ministry.
